SYDNEY (AP) -Dutch national Youssouf Hersi scored twice and created another goal in Western Sydney's 4-2 win over Adelaide United on Sunday, moving the first-year Wanderers into third place in the A-League.

Hersi opened the scoring after a goal-mouth scramble in the 43rd minute before adding his second nine minutes later.

The Wanderers are four points behind first-place Central Coast, which drew 2-2 with defending champions Brisbane on Friday.

The Melbourne Victory, who defeated Melbourne Heart 2-1 in a local derby Saturday, are in second place, three points behind the Mariners and a point ahead of the Wanderers.

In other weekend matches, Alessandro Del Piero scored a goal in Sydney FC's 2-2 draw with Newcastle and Wellington beat Perth 1-0.
