LIVERPOOL, England (AP) - Gareth McAuley and Romelu Lukaku scored after Liverpool's Steven Gerrard failed to convert a penalty kick, giving West Bromwich Albion a 2-0 win in the Premier League on Monday night and its first leg sweep of the Reds since the 1966-67 season.

Gerrard's penalty kick in the 77th minute was saved by goalkeeper Ben Foster, who dove to palm the ball away.

McAuley headed in a corner kick in the 81st, and Lukaku scored on a counterattack in injury time.

With its first win since Dec. 26, West Brom (11-11-4) moved into eighth place with 37 points, one above Liverpool (9-8-9).
