PAOK beats Veria 2-0 in Greek league

ATHENS, Greece (AP) -PAOK moved into a second place in the Greek league with a 2-0 victory over Veria on Saturday.

PAOK was 14 points behind league champion Olympiakos, which travels to Platanias on Sunday.

Asteras can catch up with PAOK if it beats visiting Xanthi on Sunday.

Marcus Mokake gave PAOK the lead with an own goal in the 34th minute and Klaus Athanassiadis headed in PAOK's second in the 85th.

In Athens, Aris, despite being a man down from the 20th following David Aganzo's dismissal, beat fourth-place Atromitos 1-0. Andreas Tatos scored the winner in the 82nd.

Aris was still in the relegation zone, one point behind Veria.

Also, Levadiakos won 2-1 at last-place Kerkyra.
