Barcelona postpones title with draw at Bilbao
BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -Barcelona conceded a late equalizer to spoil what would have been another heroic effort by Lionel Messi, with the 2-2 result at Athletic Bilbao on Saturday meaning waiting for the Spanish league title to be decided for at least one more week.
Down 1-0, Messi went off the bench in the 59th to transform his side and in 10 minutes Barcelona was in front.
Messi extended his record run of scoring in 20 straight league appearances by dribbling through a pack of defenders to level in the 67th before setting up Alexis Sanchez two minutes later.
Barcelona looked set to collect the three points until Ander Herrera shot just inside the post in the 90th.
Barcelona hosts Bayern Munich on Wednesday needing to overcome a 4-0 deficit to reach the Champions League final.
Celta Vigo won 1-0 at Levante to provisionally escape the relegation zone with its first back-to-back victories of the season.
Celta forward Augusto Fernandez turned in Michael Krohn-Dehli's lobbed pass with a header to score the winner in the 20th minute on Saturday.
Levante forward Jose Barkero squandered a golden chance to level when he drove a penalty kick wide in the 55th.
Levante has lost four straight, its worst streak under coach Juan Ignacio Martinez in his two seasons in charge.
