Torino goalkeeper Gillet suspended for 43 months
ROME (AP) -Torino goalkeeper Jean Francois Gillet has been suspended for three years and seven months by the Italian football federation for his part in the match-fixing scandal.
Gillet has been found guilty of fixing and failing to report fixing for two Serie B matches - Bari-Treviso (0-1) in May 2008 and Salernitana-Bari (3-2) in May 2009.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper was one of 20 people suspended on Tuesday.
Gillet, who has made nine appearances for Belgium, had an 11-year spell at Bari before joining Bologna in 2011. He moved to Torino the following year.
At least 50 people have been arrested in Italy for match-fixing since the middle of 2011, with scores more under investigation by prosecutors in Cremona, Bari and Napoli.
