Hiroshima beats Sendai 2-0 in J-League

SENDAI, Japan (AP) -Defending champion Sanfrecce Hiroshima beat Vegalta Sendai 2-0 to move into first place in the J-League on Wednesday.

Naoki Ishihara headed Sanfrecce in front in the 11th minute and Hisato Sato doubled the advantage just a minute later with his 13th goal of the season.

Late goals by Yoshito Okubo and Renato gave Kawasaki Frontale a 3-2 win over Omiya Ardija. Both Omiya and Hiroshima have 36 points but Sanfrecce leads on goal difference.

Norio Suzuki and Yu Hasegawa scored for Omiya which lost its second straight match.

Also, Yuzo Kurihara scored a late winner as Yokohama F Marinos beat Urawa Reds 3-2 to move into third place, two points behind the leaders. Reds are three behind Yokohama.

Hidetaka Kanazono's 78th-minute equalizer allowed Jubilo Iwata to extend its unbeaten start under new coach Takashi Sekizuka in a 1-1 draw with Kashima Antlers.

Cerezo Osaka thrashed Sagan Tosu 4-1 while Kazuma Watanabe scored twice as FC Tokyo beat Ventforet Kofu by the same score.

Elsewhere, Masato Kudo's equalizer gave Kashiwa Reysol a 2-2 draw with Shimizu S-Pulse.

Nagoya Grampus beat bottom club Oita Trinita 2-1 away on goals by Keiji Tamada and Yoshizumi Ogawa. Kengo Kawamata scored both goals as Albirex Niigata won 2-0 at Shonan Bellmare.
