Valencia, PSV Eindhoven stunned in Europe League
MANCHESTER, England (AP) - Valencia's early season problems deepened by losing 3-0 to Swansea in the Europa League on Thursday, while Bulgarian minnow Ludogorets Razgrad also provided a shock in the opening round of group-stage matches by beating PSV Eindhoven.
Swansea capitalized on the 10th-minute sending-off of Valencia center back Adil Rami by opening the scoring through Wilfried Bony four minutes later, before Michu and Jonathan de Guzman added second-half goals.
Valencia fans in the bottom tier behind one of the goals at the Mestalla emptied the stand for 10 minutes at the start of the second half in protest. The team has also lost three of its first four matches in the Spanish league.
Ludogorets scored twice in the final half hour to win 2-0 at former European champion PSV, while Fiorentina beat Pacos Ferreira 3-0 and Eintracht Frankfurt crushed Bordeaux 3-0.
