PARIS (AP) - Saint-Etienne missed the chance to provisionally move into first place in the French league after slipping to a 2-1 home loss to Toulouse on Friday.

Saint-Etienne took the lead in the 18th minute when goalkeeper Ali Ahamada spilled a cross from Fabien Lemoine and winger Romain Hamouma turned in the loose ball for his third league goal of the season.

Toulouse equalized in the 63rd through Denmark forward Martin Bratihwaite and added the winner in the 75th when left back Issiaga Sylla ran to the back post to turn in a cross from right back Serge Aurier.

The defeat means Saint-Etienne remains in second place ahead of this weekend's matches, one point behind leader Monaco, while Toulouse climbed out of the relegation zone and into 15th spot.
