ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Lakerville won the Clocker's Corner Stakes by 1 1/4 lengths at Santa Anita on Sunday after a 17-month layoff.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Lakerville ran 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf in 1:11.75 and paid $19.60, $8.40 and $6.40 at 8-1 odds.

"He was ready to come back two or three times, but he just got away from us in the mornings," said trainer, co-owner and breeder Barry Abrams. "When you have a great horse, you take your time."

Sweet Swap returned $7.60 and $5.80, while Di Giorgio was another half-length back in third and paid $8.20 to show.

The victory, worth 460,120, increased Lakerville's career earnings to $272,660, with five wins in seven starts. It was his first stakes victory.
