CNN and Sports Illustrated deliver sports news with immediacy and depth
On July 17, 1997, CNN/Sports Illustrated launched a 24-hour sports news Web site, CNNSI.com.
The Web site came seven months after the December 12, 1996 launch of CNN/Sports Illustrated, a 24-hour sports news network. The network, which brought together the combined sports assets of Time Warner Inc. and Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc., offers a combination of CNN, the world's largest and most trusted news organization, and Sports Illustrated, publishing's premier sports magazine.
CNN/Sports Illustrated is headquartered at the CNN Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and has bureaus in New York, Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles. It also uses the valuable resources of Sports Illustrated reporters, editors and analysts who cover sports around the world. As the network and Web site grow, CNN/Sports Illustrated will continue to provide viewers with the complete story - with scores, stats, highlights, interviews, analysis and commentary by some of the best journalists in sports today.
