Posted: Saturday June 17, 2000 08:25 AM

GOLF PLUS will replace Pro Golf Weekly as the network’s new weekly half-hour golf show starting this Saturday, May 6. The show will air every Saturday on CNN at 7:30 a.m. and on CNN/Sports Illustrated at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. (All times Eastern).

GOLF PLUS, which will continue to be hosted by CNN/Sports Illustrated’s Jim Huber, will have an increased Sports Illustrated presence, including reporting and analysis from SI’s Jamie Diaz and others. The show will also incorporate a new graphics package, set design and opening, as well as interactive elements. GOLF PLUS features golf news from around the world, including the PGA, LPGA, European and Senior Tours, as well as player profiles, tips from pros and a look at technology’s effect on the game. The show offers the most complete look at the world of golf by combining the resources and expertise of Sports Illustrated, CNN/Sports Illustrated and CNNSI.com.

This new program reflects the partnership of CNN/Sports Illustrated the network, Sports Illustrated the magazine, and CNNSI.com the Web site, as well as the continuing integration of the three media. The network, the magazine and Web site now all have their golf-content areas branded GOLF PLUS.

CNN/Sports Illustrated is the most comprehensive sports network, providing up-to-the-minute news and information, in-depth reporting and live coverage of breaking news and press conferences, as well as sports event programming such as Wimbledon 2000 and the WUSA in 2001. CNN/Sports Illustrated combines the unmatched newsgathering resources of CNN and news reports, expert analysis and unique commentary from Sports Illustrated’s stable of writers, editors and reporters. CNNSI.com is Time Warner’s sports Web site, the home of Sports Illustrated on the Web and the sports site for CNN.com and CNN/Sports Illustrated, the sports news network.
