Nick Charles to Host CNN/Sports Illustrated’s Exclusive Prime Time Wimbledon Coverage

Event Marks Network's First Sports Event Programming

Nick Charles will host CNN/Sports Illustrated's exclusive prime time U.S. coverage of the 2000 Wimbledon Championships, beginning Monday, June 26, through Sunday, July 9, every night from 9 - 11 p.m. (ET). The programming includes exclusive coverage of a feature match selected daily, as well as highlights, news, features and interviews.

Charles will be joined by CNN/Sports Illustrated reporters Phil Jones and Jim Huber, who will contribute on-site reports and interviews. The BBC will provide match play color analysis. CNN/Sports Illustrated will air 28 hours of Wimbledon coverage.

The event marks CNN/Sports Illustrated's first venture into sports event programming. The network will also air the WUSA, the Women's United Soccer Association, beginning in 2001.

CNNSI.com will provide complete coverage of the 2000 Wimbledon Championships, including live scoring, video and audio streaming, player pages, competition brackets, photo gallery, chats, 'Insider' reports, exclusive highlights and features and more.
