Turner Sports Announces Wimbledon 2000 Schedule with 89 Hours on TNT and CNN/Sports Illustrated

Turner Sports Announces Wimbledon 2000 Schedule with 89 Hours on TNT and CNN/Sports Illustrated Turner Network Television (TNT) and CNN/Sports Illustrated will combine to televise 89 hours of Wimbledon coverage, with TNT airing 61 hours of primarily daytime coverage, and 28 additional hours programmed on CNN/Sports Illustrated. The schedule was announced today by Turner Sports President Mark Lazarus.

TNT's coverage begins on Saturday, June 24, with a one-hour Wimbledon 1999 Highlights Preview Show at 12:30 p.m. ET/PT, followed by the Wimbledon 2000 Preview Show at 1:30 p.m. ET/PT. Both networks begin televising match play on Monday, June 26. In addition, TNT will air a 30-minute Wimbledon Recap Show each night from 12 - 12:30am ET/PT, June 26 through July 1.

The Wimbledon 2000 Championships marks the beginning of the new multi-year contract with television partners NBC Sports and Turner Sports, and the first time that the prestigious tennis championship will be available on basic cable. All times listed below on TNT are tape-delayed to the West Coast (ET/PT), with the exception of Wed., June 28. In addition, all coverage on CNN/Sports Illustrated is Eastern (ET). Announcers will be released at a later date.
