In its Masters preview, SI correctly picked 23-year-old Jack Nicklaus as one of three favorites. Nicklaus came through, winning his first Masters. SI's other pre-tournament favorites, Gary Player and Arnold Palmer, finished tied for fifth and tied for ninth, respectively.
