Hole 5
Par 4, 435 Yards
The trick here is to bounce your approach shot onto the green, allowing the ball to stop on the upper level where the pin is always placed. Placing the ball on the lower level that collars the front of the green can leave some unbelievable putts.

How Bernhard Langer plays this hole
1. Hit a draw off the tee and then basically just hit it to the middle of the green because it is one of the most severe greens on the golf course.
2. Your approach can be anything from an 8-iron to a 4-iron, sometimes even more if the wind is against you. Just getting on the middle of the green is important, because if you pitch it short it comes back, if you pitch it right it goes right, and if you pitch it long it releases and goes over.
3. All of the pin placements are difficult on this high, undulating green. But one of the most difficult is just over the ridge on the front. It slopes away from you.
Historical Note
Langer parred this difficult hole in each round when he won his second Masters title in 1993.
