A downhill dogleg left, the second shot being to an elevated green on which it is difficult to judge just where the pin is located.

How Phil Mickelson plays this hole
1. I hit a drive as hard as I can and try to get it to the bottom of the hill.
2. Then I have about a pitching wedge into the green. I don't mind being near the top of the green, because I'd rather be above the pin than have it come all the way back down the hill in front of the green.
3. When the pin's on the front, I just try to throw it to the middle tier and try to have enough spin to bring it back. It's not an impossible two-putt like it was a few years ago.
Historical Note
Mickelson tied a record in the first round in 1996 by playing the par-4 holes 6-under. He made a birdie on the ninth hole in his round of 65.
