Babe Ruth's 600th

Aug. 21, 1931: At Sportsman's Park in St. Louis, Babe Ruth takes right-hander George Blaeholder deep in the third inning, a two-run shot that bounces off a parked car on Grand Avenue beyond the right-field wall. Ruth's ball is retrieved and exchanged for an autographed replacement plus cash. Lou Gehrig homers immediately after the Babe. The Yankees go on to beat the Browns 11-7.
