Venezuela beats Texas 3-2 to win championship
Maracaibo, Venezuela gave Latin America its second Little League World Series title in six years Saturday with a 3-2 win over Bellaire, Texas. Ruben Mavarez pitched a four-hitter for Venezuela, which earned the fifth overall title for Latin America. Bellaire ace Alex Atherton threw a two-hitter, but two costly wild pitches and an error did him in.
