Jason Tyner reached in all four plate appearances and forced in a run in the fourth for Durham, which won six straight games after dropping its playoff opener to the Louisville Bats to capture the title.
The blast by Crespo was his first of the postseason and he finished 9-for-27 (.333) to lead Pawtucket in the playoffs.
Bruce Chen (0-2) gave up three runs and seven hits, fanning nine and walking four, in 5 2/3 innings to suffer the loss as the Red Sox failed in an attempt to win the Cup for the first time since 1984.
