RHP Jerome Williams, Giants -- The youngest pitcher in the Pacific Coast League at the beginning of the season, Williams did experience some growing pains, but re-established himself with a strong second half and an outstanding performance in the Arizona Fall League.

LHP Sean Burnett, Pirates -- The Pirates' first-round pick in the 2000 draft has been masterful. The 6-1, 175-pounder dominated the advanced Class-A Carolina League last year, going 13-4 with a 1.80 ERA and putting together a 31-inning scoreless streak.

1B Travis Hafner, Indians -- Before he was traded to Cleveland this winter by the Texas Rangers, Hafner saw success at each level in which he played. Last year at Class AAA Oklahoma, the 25-year-old slugger hit .342 and led all minor leaguers with a .463 on-base percentage.

C Victor Martinez, Indians-- A switch-hitter with power, Martinez earned MVP honors in the Class AA Eastern League after hitting .336 with 22 homers and 85 RBIs in 443 at-bats. A weak throwing arm is the one thing keeping him from being labeled as the complete package.

2B Joe Thurston, Dodgers -- The Dodgers' fourth-round pick in the 1999 draft, Thurston put it all together in the Pacific Coast League last year. The 5-11, 170-pounder ranked in the top five in 10 offensive categories and set career highs with 39 doubles, 13 triples and 12 homers.

3B Mark Teixeira, Rangers -- Teixeira seems a lock to hit .300 with 35 homers annually in the majors. In addition to his awesome numbers, he walked 46 times and fanned 60 -- an excellent ratio for a slugger.

SS Jose Reyes, Mets -- With the New York Mets trading Rey Ordonez to Tampa Bay in mid-December, the path has been all but cleared for Reyes to step in and become the everyday shortstop in Flushing, N.Y.

OF Rocco Baldelli, Devil Rays -- After two unimpressive seasons in the minors, Baldelli exploded in 2002, batting .331 with 19 homers, 71 RBIs, 28 doubles and 26 stolen bases between the Class A California League and the Class AAA International League.
