McGwire has more homers (28) than anyone in the majors going into the All-Star break. He jacks 12 in the Home Run Derby at San Diego's Jack Murphy Stadium to lead the American League to a 27-13 win. "Actually, I was just hoping I could hit four," said McGwire, who at one point drilled seven in a row.

"What he's doing is just unheard of. When he came to Pittsburgh last year, he hit one ball that I thought was going to go all the way out of the stadium. It landed way, way up there. My mouth just dropped open."
