NEW YORK (AP) -- All-Star catcher Mike Piazza is out of the New York Mets' lineup for a second straight day with an injured left thumb.

Piazza, who missed game three of the Mets series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, was possibly available for pinch-hitting duties today.

He initially injured the thumb September 17th when he was hit by a foul ball against Philadelphia and re-aggravated it Wednesday night.

X-rays of the thumb were negative but Piazza had a bad reaction to a cortisone shot.

Todd Pratt, who went 1-for-3 with two walks in game three, will start once again in Piazza's place.

The Mets lead the best-of-five series two-games-to-one.
