CHICAGO (AP) -- Seattle right-hander Paul Abbott will start Game 2 of the American League division series against the Chicago White Sox.

The Mariners had considered Jamie Moyer, who threw in the bullpen Monday to test a sore shoulder. He will be used either in relief or as the Game 4 starter.

Freddy Garcia will start Game 1 on Tuesday, followed by Abbott and Aaron Sele in Game 3 at Seattle on Friday. John Halama currently is the scheduled starter for Game 4.

"We've got one question mark, and that's Moyer," Mariners manager Lou Piniella said. "Other than that, the other four starters are ready to go."

The White Sox juggled their rotation, too.

Jim Parque will start Game 1, and 15-game winner Mike Sirotka was pushed back to Game 2. Sirotka tested a sore elbow on Monday and said he felt no pain but preferred to wait another day.

James Baldwin, who's had a sore shoulder, will start Game 3, with Sean Lowe slated for a fourth game.

Cal Eldred, who has a 5-inch screw in his elbow, was left off the playoff roster.

"It's a big mystery how everybody is going to respond," Sirotka said. "It's not ideal, the conditions. But we got a lot of guys who can pick everybody up."
