Jones spins one-hitter, sends Mets to NLCS
Bobby Jones picked an opportune time to pitch the best game of his life. Sent to the minors in June, Jones threw a one-hitter as the Mets advanced to the NLCS for the second straight year with a 4-0 victory over the Giants. Robin Ventura's two-run homer and Edgardo Alfonzo's two-run double accounted for the scoring. The Mets now prepare for their 1980's nemesis, the St. Louis Cardinals.
