No. 15 Toronto Blue Jays

Raul Mondesi Raul Mondesi set career highs last season with 33 home runs and 36 stolen bases. AP

1999 Record: 84-78 (3rd place, AL East)

The Toronto Blue Jays were serious contenders for a wild card berth until late last August. Now it will be up to new addition Raul Mondesi, who joined Tornoto in an off-season trade for Shawn Green, to make sure the Jays contend again in 2000.

No one has ever questioned Mondesi's ability, but he hasn't always brought an attitude to match. Skydome may not be kind to Mondesi's home run numbers, but he figures to hit more doubles in the spacious power alleys.

Mondesi joins what may be the best young outfield in baseball. Right fielder Shannon Stewart, centerfielder Jose Cruz, Jr. and Mondesi all possess an exceptional mix of power and speed. That's why I have the Blue Jays as the 15th best team in baseball.
