Knock, knock ... Diamondbacks set record for hits in World Series game
NEW YORK (AP) -- Arizona set a World Series record for hits in a game, getting 21 in the first six innings against the New York Yankees in Game 6 Saturday night. The previous mark of 20 was set by the New York Giants against the Yankees in a 13-5 win in Game 3 in 1921. The St. Louis Cardinals matched it against the Boston Red Sox in a 12-3 victory in Game 4 in 1946. Greg Colbrunn set the record with a sixth-inning single off Randy Choate.
