TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Willie Harris had four hits, including a double and homer, scored three times and drove in three runs as the Chicago White Sox posted an 11-5 Cactus League triumph over the Oakland Athletics. Harris, trying to make the team as a utility player, homered off Milwaukee starter Allen Levrault in the first. Jose Valentin homered in a five-run third for Chicago, which had 16 hits. White Sox starter Gary Glover allowed two unearned runs over five innings, but reliever Lorenzo Barcelo was tagged for three runs and four hits in three innings. Luis Lopez had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run for Oakland. Mario Valdez and Rob Ryan also had two hits apiece for the A's. Levrault was battered for nine runs and 12 hits in 3 1/3 innings. |
