MARYVALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Scott Spiezio hit a three-run home run and drove in four runs to lead the Anaheim Angels to a 7-6 Cactus league victory over a split squad of Milwaukee Brewers. In his first at-bat in the third inning, Spiezio tagged Brewers starting pitcher Paul Rigdon for his second home run of spring training. Spiezio's blast gave the Angels a 5-0 lead. The Brewers came back with four runs in the fourth inning on home runs by sluggers Geoff Jenkins and Richie Sexson, but the Angels added a pair of insurance runs one inning later. Anaheim starter Ramon Ortiz allowed five runs and six hits in six innings. But Ortiz struck out eight to notch his first spring training victory. Rigdon (0-1) was tagged for five runs and six hits in three innings. |
