MARYVALE, Ariozna (Ticker) -- Alex Sanchez belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Milwaukee Brewers outslugged the Chicago Cubs, 15-14, in a Cactus League game. Sanchez's first homer of the spring with none out off Scott Chiasson allowed the Brewers to rally after Chicago had scored three times in the top of the ninth to take a 14-12 lead. Midre Cummings belted a grand slam and drove in five runs and Alex Ochoa and Izzy Alcantata also homered for the Brewers, who scored 10 times over the final three innings. Bobby Hill hit a solo homer and three-run shot and Sammy Sosa and Corey Patterson also homered for Chicago. Cubs prized prospect Mark Prior got the start and surrendered four runs and three hits in three innings. Milwaukee starter Ruben Quevedo was roughed up for five runs and four hits in four innings. |
