TUSCON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Curt Schilling continued to tune up for the regular season by pitching seven strong innings, leading the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-3 Cactus League victory over Anaheim Angels. In his best outing of the spring, Schilling surrendered two runs and six hits, walking none and striking out six. The righthander had allowed 16 runs and 28 hits over 18 2/3 innings in his five previous spring outings. Jay Bell snapped an eighth-inning tie with a solo homer off Donne Wall for Arizona. David Delluci had a two-run single in the second. Benji Gil, Bengie Molina and Gary Johnson had RBI for the Angels. Angels starter Kevin Appier surrendered three runs and eight hits in six innings. The veteran righthander walked two and struck out four. |
