PEORIA, Arizona (Ticker) -- Olmedo Saenz belted a two-run homer and Carlos Hernandez hit a solo shot, powering the Oakland Athletics to a 6-4 Cactus League victory over the San Diego Padres. Saenz's fourth homer of the spring off Trevor Huffman in the top of the eighth inning, snapped a 4-4 tie. David Justice went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Mike Colangelo had two hits and knocked in a run for the Athletics. Oakland starter Tim Hudson went five innings, allowing three runs and seven hits. The righthander walked two and struck out six. Wiki Gonzalez homered and highly touted rookie Sean Burroughs went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Padres. San Diego starter Brian Tollberg surrendered three runs and five hits over five innings, walking one and striking out three. |
