TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- The Chicago White Sox concluded their stay in Arizona in style, banging out 24 hits and getting six RBI from Ray Durham in a 22-7 Cactus League rout of the Chicago Cubs. Durham was 4-for-4 with a double and a home run as the White Sox tattooed Jesus Sanchez and five relievers. Magglio Ordonez added a double, his sixth spring homer and four RBI and Scott Bikowski was 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBI. Thirteen different players scored a run and Jose Valentin was the only White Sox's starter without a hit. Todd Ritchie got the win, allowing three runs and seven hits in five innings. Bob Howry's terrible spring continued as he surrendered two runs in the sixth. Sanchez surrendered seven runs, six hits and two walks in two innings while Carlos Zambrano retired just one batter and was charged with six runs. Robert Machado was 2-for-2 with four RBI and Joe Girardi homered for the Cubs. The White Sox play two games in Milwaukee against the Brewers before wrapping up the preseason on Sunday against the San Francisco Giants at Pac Bell Park. The Cubs play two games against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Bank One Ballpark before opening the season on Monday at Cincinnati. |
