SAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) -- Barry Bonds had two hits and knocked in a run, leading the San Francisco Giants to a 7-1 exhibition victory over the Oakland Athletics in the middle game of the Bay Bridge series. Bonds also scored two runs and Reggie Sanders had two hits and an RBI for the Giants, who rebounded from Thursday's 8-1 loss. The Bay area teams conclude their exhibition seasons in Oakland on Saturday. Livan Hernandez, slated to start the Giants' opener against Los Angeles on Monday, surrendered three hits in three scoreless innings. Eric Byrnes had an RBI single for the A's. Oakland starter Barry Zito was roughed up for five runs and five hits in three innings. |
