| Ruben Rivera played an important role for the Padres in
Game 1 subbing for the injured Greg Vaughn, leading off the
eighth inning with a double and then scoring the go-ahead
run on an Andres Galarraga error. The Braves would tie the
score at 2-2 in the
bottom of the ninth before Ken Caminiti's game-winning homer
in the
10th.
