Baltimore Orioles    1997 record: 98-64 (first in AL East)

The Value of Experience

Every player in Baltimore's projected starting lineup will be over the age of 30 by Opening Day, and there are 12 Orioles over 30 with a realistic chance of accumulating at least 200 plate appearances. Only six teams in major league history have had as many as 10 such players in one season. Two of those six made the playoffs, and two others came within one game of a division title; none finished lower than third in its division.
