Chuck Knoblauch, 2B

Knoblauch, traded to New York from the Minnesota Twins in
February, brought a wealth of talent to the Yankees. His
deft fielding at second base makes him a perfect
double-play partner for shortstop Derek Jeter, and his
speed makes him a solid leadoff
hitter and reliable base stealer. His compact size (5'
9", 170 pounds) does not mean that he lacks power: in
August Knoblauch hit seven homers—just three fewer
than Big
