I'm going to keep this simple and short: throughout the years you've been critized beyond belief, but I think you have put together an excellent team. I'm only 15, but you don't know how much it means to me and all Yankees fans. "Boss," THANK YOU!
—Tony Destino, Rochester, N.Y.

I think you're doing great right now. I've been a Yankees fan since '95, and that's pretty long considering that I'm only 12. PLEASE don't move the Yanks out of the Bronx! Just don't build a new stadium anywhere else. It may be the same team, but it won't give me the same feeling of awe every time I step into the new stadium. The House That Ruth Built was built in the Bronx, and don't try to tamper with that.

Otherwise, I think you're doing great, since you realized that firing people is not the answer and toned down your temper.
—Stefanie Schneebalg, New York City

Congrats on this year's team, but I remember the days of Barfield, Hall, Whitson, and so on. Keep these guys together in the Bronx for as long as you can. Sign Bernie, keep the team in beautiful, historic Yankee Stadium.
—Jonathan Palsi, Bethlehem, Pa.

As a die-hard Phillies fan (believe it or not), and a baseball fan who stuck with baseball even after the strike that closed down the World Series, and as one who likes to travel to ballparks, and who for the very first time attended a Yankees game this summer, and who enjoyed the back of "your" head on Seinfeld, I ask you: What else can the Yankees be but the Bronx Bombers?
—Jim Carver. Ephrata, Pa.

A Yankees fan all my 65 years and an aficionado of the game always, I'd like to congratulate you on the care and money you've poured into the franchise that symbolizes dignity in sport. Were I to request something, it would have to be this: Try to retain Bernie. He brings to that position the panache of DiMaggio and Mantle. I've written sports for more than 80 percent of my 40 years in newspapering, so I'd obviously like an opportunity to say more than 50 words, but I won't be selfish; bless you and the team, particularly Darryl, who has justified with elegance the chance you took on him.
—Frank Cracolice, Santa Clara, Calif.

Please don't move the Yankees from the Bronx. Yankee Stadium is the most beautiful, historic sports stadium around! And you are the best owner ever. What you have done with the Yankees is great. I have been a fan for over 25 years. As a kid, my favorite player was Thurman. Yankee Stadium is full of his memories as well as the Babe, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig and all the others.

Keep up the good work George! You're a great businessman!
—Lisa Cornell, Aurora, N.Y.

In the age of new ballparks, it is inevitable that persons would clamor for one for the Yankees, too.

The "House That Ruth Built" should stay that way and should stay where it is.

I have been going to Yankee games with my dad since I was a little girl and have been to ballparks all over the country. Nothing gives me the feel of pride and history I get when I step into the Stadium.
—J. McCauley, Brooklyn

I have to tell you what a selfish, self centered, greedy man you are! I hope when you finally drop dead (only the good die young) you go straight to hell for all your greediness. You are a product of the DEVIL.
—Anna Cilia, Woodside, N.Y.

I am a lifelong Yankees fan and a George Steinbrenner fan. Regardless of what the media has said at times, I have alot of respect for you in regards to what you have done with the Yankees and how you have conducted yourself in other matters.

In the early '80s I was in the Pittsburgh airport waiting to board a plane and you disembarked. I wondered what you were doing in Pittsburgh and read in the papers that you were there to pay your respects to a friend's family upon the passing of that friend. It impressed me that you took the time to do this personally. Since that time, I have heard many other stories that portray you much differently than the media usually does. Keep up the good work.
—Tom Piszczatoski, Tallahassee, Fla.

P.S. Don't sell the Yankees. You are as much a part of the team as the players are.

I've been a Yankees fan since about a minute after Mazeroski's shot sank the Yanks, and being 44 now, all I've ever known was my team playing out of Yankee Stadium. You've shown me over the years your undying love for the Yankees and your determination to win in the greatest city in the world. For that I will be eternally grateful.

Mr. Steinbrenner, if you choose to keep the Yanks at the Stadium, or somewhere else, as long as you remain involved, I'll stand behind any decision you make. Thanks for all the great memories!
—Bruce Wood, Fredericton, New Brunswick

I am an 11-year-old boy . I wish that you will listen to me and let the Yankees stay . I have went to almost all the home games this season. The traffic jams don't matter, it's a tradition that all Yankees fans have to go through when they want to get to the game . I love it !!! I hope you don't make the Yankees move.
—Michael Huang, New York City

Way back in 1979, you invited me and the rest of the Fordham University women's basketball team to watch a Yankees game from your private box. Guidry struck out 18, and you and Billy Martin were the ultimate hosts. I was so in awe of everything I never properly thanked you. I will always remember the respect you showed for "second-class" women's sports and your financial generosity to our team. Go Yankees!
—Annie Eitman, Moorpark, Calif.

Perhaps sitting in your luxury box night after night, you've grown jaded and tired of the view of Yankee Stadium. However, I have to tell you that the first time I set foot inside was magical, as it is for any Yankees fan. The history of the stadium is incredible, and it would be a crime of epic proportions to deprive Yankees fans the privilege of entering those now hallowed grounds.

Finally, I would like to see the Yankees sign Bernie Williams. Not only is he a part of the team's foundation, but he has been there longer than any one else, and has developed into one of the game's greatest players. Would the Mariners let Ken Griffey Jr. become a free agent? Absolutely not. But not signing Bernie Williams would be the same kind of mistake. He is an amazing player, and a gentleman who is a tribute to the entire history of the organization.
—Ryan Kuzmickas, Andover, Conn.

I have been a Yankees fan for 42 years. My Dad took me to the stadium for the first time when I was 6 years old. You know and understand that the Yankees' most valuable asset is their storied history and more so their great tradition, which you have played a part in both good and bad. For you to move the Yanks out of the Bronx will destroy that which has stood for all these years. You cannot move the hallowed ground nor the ghosts that preside over the games played there. I know that time moves on, and all things change, but this does not have to change. If you move the Yanks out of the Bronx, you will have to live with the curse the fans and past players will put on you. Do the right thing, George, keep 'em there where they have always been and belong.
—Kevin B. Jordan, East Orange, N.J.

P.S. Try asking every Yankee fan for $1 to keep them in the Bronx, and see what happens.

Thank you for the great team you put together. I understand your position and the responsibility you have to baseball and your business success. I am looking forward to a World Series championship and I am confident that we will not settle for anything less.
—Conrad Karbowniczak, Jersey City, N.J.

P.S. If you can spare a few tickets for the World Series, please feel free to send them to me.
