Posted: Wed September 9, 1998

You've read and heard thousands and thousands of words praising Mark McGwire and his historic quest for the home-run record, from baseball experts, TV commentators and probably several people who have no business giving baseballcommentary.

Well, now it's Your Turn.

CNN/SI wants to know what you think of McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Roger Maris, the record, the coverage—everything.

Take a whack (an appropriate pun, we think) at whatever strikes you as interesting. What does the record mean to baseball? How many homers will McGwire end up with? What is Maris's legacy after all this? As a fan, what does the record mean to you?

Limit your response to 100 words or less, so we can publish as many as possible. Selected comments will appear on CNN/SI later this week and throughout the rest of the regular season, and will be picked on the basis of creativity and general clarity.

This historic event is certainly inspirational for all of us. Tell us what you think in the space below:
