The shortstop position is being redefined by a group of talented young players, and Alex Rodriguez is leading the charge. A-Rod has already put up offensive numbers never before seen from a player at his position, and he is smooth and graceful with the glove, too. These talents earned A-Rod the largest contract in sports history. He signed a 10-year, $252 million deal with the Texas Rangers on Dec. 11, 2000.
