GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) -- At least Kelly Johnson had his bat with him.
Johnson had three of Arizona's 22 hits and scored twice while wearing a borrowed uniform in the Diamondbacks' 16-5 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday.
Johnson, wearing pitcher Brian Sweeney 's No. 37 instead of his own No. 2, said he owes the right-hander.
"I'll have to get him a little something for saving me," Johnson said. "I'm not sure why I forgot my uniform, but I'm glad the team had a good day.
"It's good to get hits now, but I'd like to have more days like this when it counts. I'm just trying to remember what went well last year, get the bat speed up, and get the muscle memory going."
Cleveland rookie Lonnie Chisenhall , trying to win a job at third base, went 4 for 5 to lift his average to .550 after eight games.
"He can hit," manager Manny Acta said, adding that the early performance has not secured a job for the raw 21-year-old.
"We like him and he's going to be a part of the team at some point," Acta said.
Fausto Carmona allowed six runs and seven hits in three innings but Acta said he wasn't concerned about his opening-day starter.
"Fausto was strong, but a little flat with his pitches," Acta said. "There wasn't enough separation between his changeup and fastball. When Fausto's a little too strong, he loses a little movement on his pitches. He'll be fine."
Chris Young had a two-run homer and four RBIs for Arizona. He connected for a two-run shot in the second inning, and Stephen Drew hit a long drive to right on Carmona's next pitch.
Arizona starter Daniel Hudson gave up one run and five hits over three innings. He struck out four and walked none.
Sweeney, wearing the second uniform he packed, pitched the ninth and gave up two hits and two runs. One was unearned after left fielder Wily Mo Pena dropped a fly ball.
In the seventh, Pena crushed a two-run homer far over the left-center fence off rookie Bryce Stowell to make it 16-3.
