BRADENTON, Florida (Ticker) -- Adam Hyzdu's single with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning plated Humberto Cota with the winning run as the Pittsburgh Pirates posted a 3-2 Grapefruit League triumph over the Cincinnati Reds. Pat Meares homered and drove in the Pirates' other two runs but Cincinnati scored twice off Scott Service in the ninth to knot the contest. Pittsburgh starter Jimmy Anderson allowed two hits and two walks over four scoreless innings. Ricardo Aramboles started for Cincinnati and allowed two runs and four hits in three innings, Jose Rijo followed with two hitless innings and Scott Williamson and Gabe White tossed a scoreless inning apiece. Jesse Levis homered and drove in two runs for the Reds. |
