PORT CHARLOTTE, Florida (Ticker) -- Frank Castillo yielded one run and two hits over four innings as a split squad of Boston Red Sox posted a 6-5 Grapefruit League victory over the Texas Rangers.

Castillo walked one and struck out four before giving way to Butch Henry, who gave up a grand slam to Alex Rodriguez in the bottom of the fifth.

Reliever John Rocker got the start for the Rangers and was tagged with the loss, yielding three runs -- just one earned -- and three hits over two frames.

Wilton Veras collected three hits and drove in three runs for the Red Sox.

Todd Van Poppel surrendered three runs and five hits over two innings in relief of Rocker.

Casey Fossum tossed two perfect innings for the Red Sox before Chris Haney recorded the final three outs for his first save of the spring.
