FORT MYERS, Florida (Ticker) -- Darren Oliver and three relievers combined on a five-hitter as the Boston Red Sox blanked the Philadelphia Phillies, 2-0, in Grapefruit League action. New to Boston's rotation this season, Oliver gave up four hits while walking one and striking out one over four innings for his second win of the spring. Sun-Woo Kim followed with three scoreless frames and Mike Drumright and Willie Banks added one apiece. Banks struck out a pair and gave up a hit in the ninth en route to the save. Jason Varitek and Lou Merloni accounted for the only runs with solo homers in the fourth. Brett Myers gave up both and suffered the loss, allowing four hits over five innings. Marlon Anderson had two hits and a stolen base for the Phillies. |
