JUPITER, Florida (Ticker) -- Tom Glavine and four relievers combined on a five-hitter as the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals played to a scoreless tie in a Grapefruit League contest. Glavine yielded four hits over five innings with a walk and four strikeouts. Damian Moss followed Glavine with two scoreless innings before Tim Spoonybarger, Michael Saipe and Dan Wheeler each worked one frame. Five different players had hits for St. Louis. Albert Pujols had the game's only extra-base hit with a double. The Braves recorded 11 hits off five Cardinals' pitchers, with Rafael Furcal, B.J. Surhoff and Wes Helms collecting two apiece. St. Louis starter Josh Pearce yielded five hits over five innings with a walk and no strikeouts. The Braves stranded 10 runners and the Cardinals seven. |
