KISSIMMEE, Florida (Ticker) -- Roy Oswalt pitched six brilliant innings and the Houston Astros pounded Kevin Brown en route to a 12-0 Grapefruit League victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Oswalt allowed just one hit while walking one and striking out eight over six scoreless innings for his second win this spring. Three relievers finished up the two-hitter.

Brad Ausmus and Jeff Bagwell had three hits and two RBI apiece for the Astros, who scored four runs in the first inning and seven in the third for an 11-0 lead. Morgan Ensberg added a homer -- his fourth of the spring -- and three RBI for Houston.

Brown suffered the loss after giving up eight runs -- three earned -- and six hits in 2 1/3 innings, walking none and striking out none.

The Dodgers gave up seven unearned runs, thanks to a trio of errors.

Paul LoDuca and Alex Cora had the hits for Los Angeles.

Astros manager Jimy Williams announced that Richard Hidalgo will start the season in right field and Ensberg at third base. Also, Carlos Hernandez will be the fifth starter and Tim Redding will be in the bullpen.
