JUPITER, Florida (Ticker) -- Josh Beckett allowed a run over five innings but Jose Vidro and Lee Stevens homered as the Florida Marlins and Montreal Expos played to a 3-3 Grapefruit League tie. Beckett, who has earned a spot in the rotation, allowed a hit, two walks and struck out two. Closer Antonio Alfonseca allowed a homer in the sixth and Jason Grilli surrendered Lee Stevens blast in the seventh. Mike Redmond had three of Florida's 10 hits. Vidro had two hits and scored twice for the Expos, who managed just four hits. Stevens home run was his second of the spring. Montreal starter T.J. Tucker allowed two runs and six hits in three innings but Graeme Lloyd and Alan Mills followed with a scoreless inning apiece. After Ed Vosberg allowed a run, Dan Smith allowed one hit and struck out three over three scoreless innings. |
