JUPITER, Florida (Ticker) -- Vladimir Guerrero doubled, homered, drove in four runs and stole a base as the Montreal Expos posted a 4-3 Grapefruit League triumph over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Guerrero hit his third homer of the spring, a grand slam in the third inning off Tampa Bay starter Ryan Rupe. Montreal starter Masato Yoshii allowed two runs and five hits in five innings. He did not walk a batter, struck out three and improved to 3-0 this spring. Zach Day allowed a run over the final three innings but notched the save. Rupe was tagged for five hits and two walks but did strike out four. Mike James followed in relief and allowed three hits over four innings. Tampa Bay's three runs came on solo homers by Greg Vaughn, Brent Abernathy and Aubrey Huff. |
