VERO BEACH, Florida (Ticker) -- Hideo Nomo pitched five solid innings and Shawn Green hit a two-run homer as a split squad of Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Montreal Canadiens, 7-3, in Grapefruit League action. Nomo allowed one run and four hits with a walk and six strikeouts for his second win of the spring. Eric Gagne followed with three perfect innings, striking out four, before Paul Quantrill allowed a two-run homer to Jose Canseco in the ninth. Green homered off Tomo Ohka in the first inning. Mark Grudzielanek, Jeff Branson, Jeff Reboulet and Hiram Bocachica also drove in runs for the Dodgers, who built a 7-1 lead with two runs in the seventh and eighth innings. Ohka took the loss, giving up three runs and seven hits over five innings. Mike Mordecai added an RBI for the Expos. |
