CLEARWATER, Florida (Ticker) -- Pinch-hitter Tomas Perez's one-out, RBI single in the 10th inning capped a two-run rally and lifted the Philadelphia Phillies to a 3-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox in a Grapefruit League game. David Doster tied the game with an RBI groundout before Perez singled home Jimmy Rollins, who went 3-for-4 with a solo home run. The Phillies received an impressive performance from rookie starter Brett Myers, who allowed an unearned run and five hits in six innings. Frank Castillo pitched five scoreless innings for Boston, allowing just two hits. Rollins homered off Juan Pena in the sixth and the Phillies rallied in the 10th off reliever Chris Haney. Nomar Garciaparra and Damon Buford had two hits apiece for the Red Sox. |
