SARASOTA, Florida (Ticker) -- Armando Rios led off the game with a home run and the Pittsburgh Pirates went on to an 8-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds in the Grapefruit League. Rios connected off loser Joey Hamilton to begin a four-run first inning that included a two-run double by Jack Wilson, who finished with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Craig Wilson added three hits, including a pair of doubles, to help the Pirates win for the sixth time in eight games. Ron Villone pitched five innings for the win, allowing two runs and five hits. Hamilton was tagged for five runs and five hits in four innings as the Reds fell to 7-16 this spring. |
